Scripture Study

We want to welcome back all our previous Scripture study participants and extend an encouraging, warm welcome to all interested adults to join us. This is an outstanding program, and it is sure to enrich your life. No prior Scripture study is needed. Please find a topic below and check to see that the day and time will fit your schedule. Sign-up will be in the church lobby before and after Mass the weekend of August 29 and 30th. If you will be out of town that weekend, please call the facilitator of your chosen topic to register for that study.

James, Peter and Jude:  The Catholic Letters 7 sessions
Starts Tuesday, September 8th at 1:30p.m. at 2 Edgton Dr. Facilitator: Kay Smith. Phone: 855-2370. Profound differences as well as intriguing similarities are discovered in these four letters, each written to strengthen Christian communities scattered across a wide region of the Roman Empire.

Jeremiah  11 sessions
Starts Tuesday, September 15th at 7:00p.m. in classroom 203. Facilitator: Karen Wenzel.  Phone 696-4527.  With the exile of many in Judah on the horizon, the prophet Jeremiah spoke on God’s behalf using words and symbolic actions to condemn the idolatry that was rampant in Judah.

Isaiah 7 sessions
Starts Tuesday, September 15th at 9:15 a..m. in classroom 203.  Facilitator: Nadine Duffy.  Phone: 271-0093.  Israel’s prophets challenge you to greater holiness and compassion.

Priest, Prophet, King by Father Barron 7 sessions
Begins Tuesday, September 15th at 9:30a.m. in classroom 205.  Facilitator: Ed Moore  Phone:  855-6285.  In this study you’ll discover Jesus as the anointed One – the ultimate priest, prophet, and king foreshadowed throughout the Hebrew Scriptures.  Using biblical insights and engaging stories, Father Barron affirms that we see Jesus most clearly through the lens of the Old Testament.  Study guides for this study will be $22.
