PRAYER & DEVOTIONAL GROUPS

Perpetual Adoration – Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament focuses the heart and mind in prayer, with attention fixed on the mystery of the Eucharistic presence of Christ in church. Adoration takes place in the parish chapel continually, in one-hour segments, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Daily Rosary – The Rosary is prayed each day of the week, one half hour before daily Masses in the chapel and one half hour before weekend Masses in the church

Vocations Cross – The cross is presented at weekend Masses and returned to the church before the start of Mass on the following Saturday or Sunday. Those taking the Vocations Cross are asked to pray for vocations during the week. All parishioners are invited to sign up to take the cross home by contacting the parish office.

Marion Movement of Priests – This group meets the 3rd Saturday of month after 5p.m. Mass. They pray for our priests and our church. It is based on messages given to Fr Stepfano Goddi of Italy by the Blessed Virgin Mary. Cenacle meetings consist of involving the Holy Spirit through the intercession of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, the Rosary, prayers for the Holy Father, reading of a message with sharing and discussion, and closing with an Actof Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Enthronement of the Sacred Heart of Jesus – Any parish home may be enthroned to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The family places a representation (blessed picture or statue) of Jesus manifesting His Glorified Heart in a prominent place in their home. An act of consecration of the family to the Heart of Jesus, the enthronement is the climax of a three day set of prayers that take place in your home.

The Shepherds of Christ Associates – The Shepherds meet the 1st & 3rd Saturdays of the month in private homes. The focus is to pray for priests, their vocations and service to their religious communities.

3rd Order of the Carmelites – This is a secular branch of the Carmelite Order, which includes lay people who follow the Carmelite Rule. The Lay Carmelite “is mindful that the call of Christ is a universal call to holiness. His mission is the mission of the Church itself, to live the Gospel and to sanctify the people of God”. The idea of community is developed by regular meetings, study concerning the needs of the individuals and the Church as well as a more dynamic witness to the Life of Christ in personal prayer and the apostolate. Legion of Mary – The Legion of Mary is a worldwide organization for men, women and youth with the purpose of increasing the spirituality of its members and the parish through apostolic works and of spreading devotion to the Blessed Mother through recitation of the rosary. Meetings are held throughout the area and a schedule of dates is available through the Parish Office.
